I have been working in an advisory capacity with various non-profit organizations, industry trade groups, and government-related agencies for almost two decades. In the past few years I have stepped up these activities, frequently advising both global and national policy organizations around the world. Most of this work involves discussions of security issues/risk management, entrepreneurism, innovation, and social issues, such as improving education and promoting women’s rights.

The GCSC will engage the full range of stakeholders to develop shared understandings, and its work will advance cyber stability by supporting information exchange and capacity building, basic research, and advocacy.

The World Economic Forum’s Network of Global Future Councils is the world’s foremost interdisciplinary knowledge network dedicated to promoting innovative thinking on the future. The network convenes the most relevant and knowledgeable thought leaders from academia, government, business and civil society to challenge conventional thinking and develop new insights and perspectives on the key global systems, as well as the impact and governance of key emerging technologies. In a global environment marked by short-term orientation and siloed thinking, the network fosters interdisciplinary and long-range thinking to support a sustainable and equitable future. Members of the network meet annually at the Annual Meeting for the Global Future Councils in the United Arab Emirates, and virtually several times a year to monitor trends, identify global risks, discuss ideas and explore interconnections between issues. They also develop recommendations and integrate their findings into World Economic Forum activities such as the Annual Meeting in Davos and regional and industry events, as well as into global decision-making processes.

The National Information Security Center (NISC) was established as part of the Cabinet Secretariat to form information security policy strategies for Japan. The goal of NISC is to protect the information security of government organizations while improving the overall level of information security in Japan.

HGPI was established in 2004 as an independent, non-profit, non-partisan private think-tank whose aim is to realize citizen-centered health policy. In subsequent years, increasing uncertainty due to the rapid aging of society and mounting government deficits has drawn considerable public attention to the issue of healthcare. Since the existing policy-making mechanism has proved incapable of producing effective solutions, HGPI works to make practical, independent health policy recommendations.

IMPACT Japan

In 2007, the co-founders of IMPACT Japan began organizing cross-fertilizing programs such as the Global Entrepreneurship Week Japan (in association with the Kauffman Foundation) and TEDxTokyo (in association with Technology, Entertainment, Design – TED), and immediately realized that there was a hunger for a locally and globally connected platform in Japan. IMPACT Japan thus took the initiative and decided to establish this needed platform in order to nurture nascent abilities and strengths – the catalysts that will create the next generation of products, companies, industries and leaders.

By establishing a platform that develops an entrepreneurial culture and mindset, IMPACT Japan is able to effectively address Japan’s challenges in fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.
